A macaron is a French pastry made of egg white, almond powder, and sugar. Queen Catherine de Medici brought the macaron to France from Italy in the 16th Century. Later on in the early 1930’s the bakery Laduree in Paris started selling two traditional dome halves sandwiched with a sweet filling between. The traditional macaron was dry; this new macaron was moist & had the added attraction of being delicately crunchy on the outside & moist, chewy & flavorful on the inside. At Le Boudoir we have a varied daily selection of macarons to chose from: Pistachio, Vanilla, Coffee, Raspberry, Lemon, Chocolate, Earl Grey, Pumpkin, Apricot, Whiskey & Chestnut, Chocolate with Orange Ganache, Almond, Peanut Butter & Hazelnut. We sell them individually or packaged beautifully as gifts or party favors.

Le Boudoir offers the tea aficionado a rare combination of elegance, atmosphere & quality. Mariage Freres  is recognized world wide as the ambassador of French Tea. MF is the oldest tea importer in France, it started trading tea in  1660s and is established in France since 1854; since then it shares the same operating techniques, providing nothing but the very finest quality to its customers. Its well-known creations include The L’Opera (green tea flavored) and  Marco Polo (black tea flavored with Chinese & Tibetan fruits & flowers). MF takes credit for what Paris tea insiders say it’s the first principle of tea preparation, infusing the tea for the proper amount of time, at the proper temperature & then removing the leaves from the pot before serving; this is the heart of Mariages Frere’s “ Five Golden Rules For Making Tea Successfully”. The company as we know it came to being in 1854- more than any person or group they are responsible for creating “ THE FRENCH ART OF TEA” !

Available exclusively at Le Boudoir, Tartines “ Pain Poilane”.  For the past three years we have been shipping overnight “Pain Poilane” from France to offer Miami a taste of true French bread. These breads share the famous crisp crust of the classic bread, adding special ingredients for unique tastes- denser inside and more flavorful: pain au currants, pain de segle & pain au raisins.

Founded in 1932, by Pierre Poilane on a site that had already been a bakery for two centuries. Poilane’s commitment to making quality bread earned him prestige around the world. Pierre took his son from school into his apprenticeship at age 14. Pierre created the loaf that his son made world-famous:  the thick crusted, handmade sourdough country bread referred to as Pain Poilane. Pain Poilane is thick-crusted, handmade, oak-fired sourdough, which has its roots in France’s cuisine. Done by hand by one person from start to finish. Each boule is made by the hands of a master baker always assigned to the same oven so that he knows its variables immediately. Elaborated from wheat grown only on farms employing techniques with sea salt from France’s Atlantic Coast. Baked for over one hour in its specially designed wood burning ovens. These 4lb. loaves are wisely textured with light sour flour with a hint of wood smoke & a thick golden brown crust. A genuinely artisanale product.
